The latest from the MAN v FAT HQ team.

Hi Gents,

As you’ll be aware, MAN v FAT Football looks to hold a MAN v FAT Draft once every 3 seasons, where we create new teams. Now, it is your turn to undergo the process!
For a full breakdown of how the draft process works, please see below.

- To stop clubs from becoming tribal and to encourage men to mix with other players in the community outside of their teams
- To help players forge new friendships on top of those they have already formed
- To allow those who have excelled in their weight loss journeys to inspire or act as mentors to others
- To stop one or two teams dominating the club competitions
- Because we know, and have evidence, that weight loss improves by doing this
- When we see new members, retention rates may be low
- To even out team numbers
- Typically held once every 3 seasons

Pot 1: Goalkeepers
Pot 2: This season's weight loss top scorers
Pot 3: The best ON-Pitch players at the club, according to you guys
Pot 4: Linked players wishing to be in the same team as each other
Pot 5: Everyone else
Please complete the MAN v FAT Football Watford survey by 22/04/2025.

The timeline will be as follows:-
12/05/25: Current Season finishes
13/05/25: Draft released via video
13/05/25: New team links released via email. An opportunity to get into your new team’s WhatsApp groups and decide on your team’s name and Captains
19/05/25: Friendlies week and a chance to bond with your new teammates
02/06/25: Matchday 1 of the new season.

We know that changing teams can seem a difficult prospect to some players, but please be aware that the idea of ensuring fair competition and continuing to make the leagues a 'one club feel' came from our Regional Manager Team.

Half of the Regional Manager Team have been through the programme and on their own weight loss journeys themselves and all of whom coach MAN v FAT Clubs and have seen the overall benefit of this process with their members.

If you have any questions about the Draft, please contact Player Support or liaise with your club coach.

Good Luck
MAN v FAT HQ Team
